The 2026 Don River Dash will mark eight years of adrenaline fuelled endurance and off road racing in the dry bed of the Don River in the Whitsundays, attracting drivers, riders and spectators from across the country.
Competitors travel 25km upstream along the southern bed of Bowen’s Don River.
Navigating their way through a mix of sand, rocks, and jumps, the competitors will then return along the northern side of the river bed, completing the 50km loop.
In total, competitors test their skills over 2 days and across 300km to answer the ultimate question:
Who will be King or Queen of the River?
Thanks to the unique reverse grid format, auto racers are constantly battle for position in a largely natural course with an incredibly diverse terrain.
This is a race made by racers with a passion for, not only racing, but also the stunning Whitsundays location that they call home.
Outside of the heart-stopping race, the 2026 Custom Lithium Don River Dash will offer live music, 2 days of exhilarating Race Live Stream, entertainment, incredible food and more.

Don River Dash Supports Ronald McDonald House North Australia
The Don River Dash has always been about more than racing. It’s about community, supporting one another and making a positive difference.
That’s why we’re proud to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia, an organisation that provides accommodation, care and practical support to families who have to travel away from home while their child receives specialist medical treatment.
This year, every official Don River Dash sublimated polo sold will help support their work, with a donation from each sale going directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia.
When you wear your Don River Dash polo, you’re not only showing your support for our event, you’re also helping families stay together when they need each other most.
