Offroad racing really is in Savanna’s DNA.
The daughter of offroad racer John Madderom, Savanna has been around race tracks practically since birth. With racing running through the family, it was perhaps only a matter of time before she found herself behind the wheel. She began competing herself at just 16 years old and is now making her own mark on the sport as part of the Hectic Racing family.
This year, Savanna added the title of 2026 Auto Queen of the River to her growing list of achievements, driving her Can-Am Maverick R at the Custom Lithium Don River Dash.
She set the fastest women’s time of the weekend and was also the fastest Under 21 driver. Her result was impressive across the entire field, too. Savanna finished 18th outright from a field of 81 vehicles, beating a few more powerful cars along the way. Given the difference in machinery, it was a result she was particularly proud of — and, as she admits, pretty stoked to discover.
In 2026, Savanna was capably supported by her friend Taylah as navigator. It was Taylah’s first time navigating — and her first ever Don River Dash. Savanna says with a smile, “She was such a great sport. Hopefully she’ll be back with me next year!”
Racing is very much a family affair for Savanna, with younger sisters Emerson and Jewell also following in her footsteps. As well as being a competitor herself, she is a role model for her two sisters, with plenty of family banter and friendly rivalry thrown in along the way. “We have so much fun racing as a family. There’s always plenty of laughs and friendly competition, but I have to admit, beating the boys makes it even sweeter!”
With plenty of experience already under her belt and lots of time ahead of her to keep growing her skills, Savanna is carving out her own place in the offroad racing scene — and we’ll be interested to see what she does next.
